AP4 CLASSIC Series

The pump that works.

Built from decades of field experience and direct customer feedback. Less downtime. Reduced operating cost. Lower maintenance requirements.

If your crew is spending more time fixing pumps than running your site, something had to change.

So we changed it.

Why CLASSIC Exists

We didn't design CLASSIC in a lab.
We built it from what you told us.

AP4 has been the industry's trusted pump for decades. But trust doesn't mean standing still. Over time, we heard the same things from crews across the country — at landfills,

remediation sites, and everywhere in between. The pumps run great. But the ownership experience? That needed work. Lead times were unpredictable. Tracking pumps across a fleet was harder than it should be. And too many service events felt like full-blown maintenance when they didn't need to be.

So we didn't chase a flashy redesign. We went back to the people who use these pumps every day and asked a simple question:

What would make your life easier?

The answers were clear — and consistent.

Make it more reliable out of the box. Not just "it runs" — but runs long from day one, with

fewer surprises and easier diagnosis when something feels off.

Make service faster and simpler. Stop treating every event like a rebuild. Give us pumps that clean up fast and get back in the ground — without specialized tools or tribal knowledge.

Make it easier to buy and support. Stock it. Simplify the lineup. Get parts to us when we need them — not weeks later.

We took that feedback and made targeted engineering improvements — a welded lever pin assembly for better reliability, control rod updates, engraved serial numbers for easier fleet tracking, and the elimination of region-specific tags that added unnecessary complexity. Operationally, we consolidated the portfolio, stocked pumps for shorter and more predictable lead times, and streamlined the ordering path.

None of it was change for the sake of change. Every improvement traces back to a real conversation with a real crew.

The result is AP4 CLASSIC — the same proven reliability customers have counted on for years, with easier ownership, faster service, and true peace of mind. Engineered and assembled in Dexter, Michigan, USA, to the rigorous manufacturing standards our customers expect.

Because in this industry, "reliability" isn't just about the pump running. It's about the pump running and staying out of your way — so you can focus on everything else.

"CLASSIC isn't a rebrand. It's what happens when you actually listen — and then

build exactly what the field asked for."

What's Changed

You told us what needed to change.
Here's what we did.

Every engineering change in AP4 CLASSIC started the same way — with a real

conversation, on a real site, with the people who depend on these pumps every day. Here's how customer feedback became product improvement.

You told us what needed to change. Here's what we did.

— 01 —

"Our pumps need too much maintenance."

We redesigned internal surfaces with proprietary non-stick coatings and simplified the pump architecture — removing approximately 20 parts compared to conventional alternatives. The result? AP4 CLASSIC Ultra runs up to 10x longer between service events. And when it does need attention, most service is a 30-minute routine cleaning — not a time-consuming rebuild.

— 02 —

"Lead times are unpredictable. We can't plan around that."

We consolidated the portfolio, leveraged Graco’s manufacturing capabilities, stocked pumps and common parts, and streamlined the ordering path. Now you get faster, more predictable access to pumps and replacement parts — so your site projects stay on schedule and your crew isn't waiting on equipment to show up.

— 03 —

"Parts fail, and tracking pumps across our fleet is a headache."

We replaced the traditional press-fit lever pin with a welded assembly — a targeted reliability upgrade that eliminates a common failure point. And every AP4 CLASSIC pump now carries an engraved serial number, making fleet tracking simpler and more accurate across sites.

— 04 —

"Cleaning takes too long and needs too many tools."

We eliminated fasteners and cotter pins, designing for tool-minimal disassembly. Most cleaning now requires only a water spray and a light wipe. That means faster turnaround, less labor, and pumps that get back in the ground quickly — even with newer technicians on the crew.

— 05 —

"We need one platform that covers all our conditions — not a different pump for every well."

We built the complete AP4 CLASSIC Series: Ultra for standard harsh conditions, HI-TEMP for elevated temperatures, XTREME for extreme solids and fouling, and LTD for controlled-flow applications. One trusted platform, end-to-end. Your fleet stays consistent. Your crew stays trained. Your ordering stays simple.

This isn't innovation for its own sake. It's engineering that respects your time.

A New Standard: Cleaning vs. Maintenance

For decades, the industry called everything "maintenance." We're changing that.

Here's the truth most pump companies won't tell you: the majority of what gets called "maintenance" is really just cleaning. Removing buildup. Wiping down components. Replacing an O-ring. That's not a rebuild — it's routine care.

But for years, the industry has treated every service event the same way. Pull the pump. Tear it down. Replace parts. Bill for hours. It's expensive, it's slow, and in many cases, it actually shortens pump life.

AP4 CLASSIC was engineered to break that cycle.

Routine Cleaning — the regular rhythm

Quick. Simple. Designed into the product. Most AP4 CLASSIC service events involve removing buildup and replacing basic consumables — nothing more. A typical cleaning takes about 30 minutes and can be done by your site technicians with a Basic Cleaning Kit. No specialized training. No deep teardown. Just a fast reset that gets the pump back online.

Maintenance / Rebuild — the rare exception

Full rebuilds address true wear or damage — not routine fouling. With AP4 CLASSIC, these events are infrequent, not automatic. When a rebuild is genuinely needed, it's performed by trained technicians using an Advanced Rebuild Kit, and it typically takes 1–1.5 hours. But here's the key: when you clean properly, rebuilds stay rare.

Think of it like car care — routine oil-change-style cleaning keeps you running. You don't want an engine rebuild every time.

Why this matters at scale

When you're managing a fleet of 50 or 100 pumps, the difference between a 30-minute cleaning and a 1.5-hour rebuild adds up fast. Across a year, that's hundreds of labor hours reclaimed — hours your crew can spend on work that actually moves the site forward, not just keeping pumps alive.

Over-servicing pumps doesn't protect them. It costs you time, money, and pump life. AP4 CLASSIC rewards cleaning discipline — not constant mechanical intervention.

Prove It — Field Data

Don't take our word for it.
Look at the field data.

AP4 CLASSIC didn't earn its reputation in a test lab. Every number below comes from real pumps, in real conditions, at real sites — the same harsh environments your crews work in every day.

Up to 10x longer between service events vs. standard pumps. In field testing across severe environments — high solids, scaling, sticky leachate — AP4 CLASSIC Ultra consistently outperformed conventional alternatives. That's not a marginal improvement. It's a fundamentally different ownership experience.

4x to 20x extended uptime across six real-world harsh conditions. Field testers compared AP4 CLASSIC Ultra head-to-head against standard pumps in high solids, sludging leachate, heavy scaling, high temp + high solids, sticky leachate, and thick leachate. In every single condition, CLASSIC Ultra delivered dramatically longer runtime.

160+ days between service in extreme fouling — where standard pumps lasted just 1–2 days. The AP4 CLASSIC XTREME, with its vortex-inducing auger, kept contaminants suspended and surfaces scoured in conditions that destroyed conventional pumps in under 48 hours.

~20 fewer parts than typical competitor pumps. Fewer parts means fewer failure points, faster service, and less that can go wrong in the field. Simplicity isn't a compromise — it's an engineering decision.

~30-minute cleaning vs. 1–1.5 hours for a full rebuild. Multiply that difference across your fleet and across a year. The labor savings alone change the math on total cost of ownership.

Up to 250°F (121°C) operating temperature for AP4 CLASSIC HI-TEMP. Specialized materials and construction extend pump life in extreme heat — where standard pumps fail early and often.

Backwards-compatible parts — your existing AP4 fleet isn't obsolete. CLASSIC components work with legacy installs, protecting your investment and simplifying the transition.

The data doesn't need hype. It speaks for itself.

The CLASSIC Series Lineup

One platform. Every condition covered.

Not every well is the same. Conditions change from site to site — sometimes from well to well. AP4 CLASSIC Ultra handles roughly 90% of what your site throws at it. For the rest, the CLASSIC Series has you covered. One platform, one parts ecosystem, one crew that already knows how it works.

AP4 CLASSIC Ultra

The workhorse. Built for standard harsh conditions.

This is the pump most sites will standardize on — and for good reason. CLASSIC Ultra runs up to 10x longer between service events than conventional alternatives, with proprietary

non-stick surfaces that reduce solids buildup and make cleaning fast and simple. No fasteners. No cotter pins. Fewer parts. Faster service. When 90% of your wells need a pump that just works and keeps working, this is it.

Ideal for: Landfill leachate, groundwater remediation, high solids, scaling environments, harsh industrial fluids.

AP4 CLASSIC HI-TEMP

The heat specialist. Proven performance up to 250°F (121°C).

When pumps operate in high-temperature environments, failure isn't gradual — it's frequent and disruptive. CLASSIC HI-TEMP is built with specialized materials and construction designed to handle elevated fluid temperatures, solids-laden leachate, and corrosive fluids including fuels, BTEX, and MTBE. Paired with Red-Line high-temperature tubing, it's a complete system solution — not a patchwork of incompatible parts.

Ideal for: Landfill leachate and condensate, high-temp remediation wells, industrial process and wastewater, harsh fluid environments with chemical exposure.

AP4 CLASSIC XTREME

The extreme performer. 160+ days between service where standard pumps last 1–2 days.

Some wells destroy pumps. Heavy solids, extreme fouling, viscous leachate — conditions where conventional equipment needs constant pulling, cleaning, and replacing. CLASSIC XTREME changes that equation with a 316 stainless-steel vortex-inducing auger that keeps contaminants suspended and internal surfaces continuously scoured during operation. The result is dramatically longer runtime in conditions where nothing else survives.

Ideal for: Landfill leachate with high solids or scaling, methane condensate systems, remediation wells with heavy fouling, industrial fluids with suspended solids or high viscosity.

AP4 CLASSIC LTD.

The controlled performer. Fixed flow. No adjustments. Automatic protection.

Not every application needs maximum flow — some need precision. CLASSIC LTD features built-in flow control that automatically limits extraction to 2.5 gpm, protecting your system from over-pumping without throttling valves, manual adjustments, or constant monitoring.

It's the right choice when flow stability matters more than volume — and when you'd rather the pump manage itself than add another task to your crew's day.

Ideal for: Landfill gas well liquid management, controlled leachate extraction, sensitive treatment processes, operations where flow stability is critical.
